June 4th-6th

Thursday, June 4th - 3rd Time is a Charm…
It was approximately a 6 hour drive from Golden, through Glacier NP, into Kamloops, and into the forest where we were to stop and see Mike at Goose Lake. While passing by the very scenic Glacier NP we saw many beautiful snow covered mountains which meant that none of the campgrounds were open.

With the last twelve mile to go…we experienced VAPOR lock, again… we didn’t think it was possible since we were only at 1500ft and the air temperature was about 86 degrees. Luckily we coasted into the only gas station for miles. After a minor delay and large java ice coffee later, we were back on the road, or should I say we were ready to make the nearly 12 mile climb to the top of the mountain.

Some of your friends say that when we go on long vacations that we need adult supervision…well maybe we do…because for the third time we bent up the back corner of the RV pulling into Goose Lake. The 38' jeep is not as forgiving as the Mango...can we buy new corners in bulk? Ouch!

Once we arrived, we found Mike, and he was doing well. He normally goes south for the winter, so he had just returned to the area about five days ago. We did some catching up and retired early.

Today we are just kicking back and relaxing. No plans what so ever, except for sitting in front of the fire, watching the fish jump in the lake, battling the mosquitoes, and trying to locate a working radio station.

Did I mention that they have really sturdy picnic tables here…you definitely can’t take them with you or move them to another camp site.

Today the big plan is for me to find a town large enough to house a grocery store (probably Clearwater) and find some wifi. As for Lars, he'll be trying to straighten out and sealing the back corner of the RV.
Tomorrow we will head further north...towards Alaska...we have 2 days of 12 hours of driving coming up...the wheels on the bus go round-n-round, round-n-round...
